Having gotten settled down this afternoon I managed a beginning to what will soon become a completion. I'm writing about this to demonstrate that as painting goes through many stages. The background is created, then the foreground follows. A climber goes from a mental image onto canvas. At this stage, the climber and surroundings need to be tweeked. On an oil painting, tweeking is fun. One could say it is a form of perfectionism but others will conceed it is a process that must continue until worthy of witness. As one tries their best at most all worthwhile pursuits, a painter will try to enhance an image. When viewing a photo it may be accuracy of tone and light or it may be an impulse. The impulses are great because they come from somewhere else, other than the brain. Rather, they come through the brain but are not of the brain. Painting is something everyone should try, even if they don't think they are good at it, someone else might think otherwise....try it, what do you have to loose? http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/2431515
